Community Care Hospice and Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County honored volunteers at a Red Carpet…
Legacy Gift Received from Ivy Nell Forstall
Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County recently received a generous legacy gift from the estate of Ivy Nell Forstall (1923-2017), a long-time supporter and volunteer.
Nell was originally from the New Orleans, Louisiana area and came to Fayette County to live near her niece and nephew-in-law after the Hurricane Katrina devastation to her home state. She joined St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church in Washington Court House and was extremely active in parish activities.
Nell became a hospice volunteer in 2011 and, although she helped in many areas, she most often was seen in the office doing whatever needed to be done there. She was a strong vocal advocate of the hospice philosophy of care, especially after her move to a local assisted living facility. She told all who would listen that she was proud to be an active part of helping people during a difficult time in their lives. Her zest for life and realistic way of looking at what her place on earth was definitely made her a joy to be around.
We at Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County are extremely blessed that she chose to spend some time with us and the people we are privileged to serve.
